About DME
A specialist practice on the seam between two systems.
Daya Mineral ESG exists to close one specific gap: between what Indonesian regulation requires and what international financiers, certification bodies and buyers now demand of critical mineral producers.
Positioning
We close the gap between Indonesian regulatory compliance (AMDAL, RKAB, ESDM, KLHK) and what international financiers, certification bodies and buyers now require (IFC PS, EP4, IRMA, Copper Mark), for nickel, copper and bauxite producers.
What the brand stands for
Practitioner-led
Advice built from reviewing actual permits, ESIA documents and site conditions, not from reading the standard.
Direct
Recommendations are specific and measurable, with the clause number, the responsible party and the timeline.
Grounded in Indonesian context
Calibrated to what producers can actually do under current regulation, not imported wholesale from Europe.
Global translator
We speak to the operations team in Morowali and the ESG desk at a DFI in London, and translate between them.
Where we sit in the field
DME is the only practitioner combining deep Indonesian regulatory experience with hands-on international-standard application at site level, in Bahasa, at a mid price.
That removes the need for two separate advisors and makes findings specific enough to act on.
We compete on site-level specificity, not brand or scale.
The founders
Three founders, one practice.
-
Maya Muchlis
Co-founder · Environment, biodiversity and mine-site ESG
Master of Environmental Management and Sustainability, University of South Australia. Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Hasanuddin University.
Maya has more than 20 years of professional experience in Indonesia, more than 15 of them in environmental, biodiversity and sustainability roles in mining and energy. She spent five years at BHP's Haju mine (IndoMet Coal), supervising contractors from exploration through construction, operation and reclamation, and at Adaro Minerals Indonesia managed a US$7 million watershed rehabilitation programme in the Barito catchment.
At Hatch (2022 to 2024) she advised lenders, investors and sponsors on the ESG risks of nickel HPAL, electrolytic nickel and nickel conversion projects. She went on to manage the Nickel Effort for Sustainable Transition (NEST) programme in Morowali and now leads the ESG Committee of the Indonesian Nickel Mining Association (APNI), developing a framework aligned with IRMA and the Nickel Mark.

His recent work includes an emission inventory guideline for the Indonesian nickel industry and the national nickel industry decarbonisation roadmap. He has been a researcher at the Centre for Environmental Studies (PSLH) ITB since 2022.
Honest by design
Where a standard does not fit, we say so, and we help you decide what to do about it.
What we do not claim
- That ESG is simple or fast.
- That any single standard fully fits Indonesian conditions.
- That DME is more than a specialist practice with contractors.
- That sustainability pays for itself in every case.
